Final Thriller.

innocence.

Evaluation Seven.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the product?

media eval 7 - slideshow

Within our thriller there is a section where the girl is actually getting murdered by the mystery killer, where the lighting is extremely dark and had to be edited to make it lighter so we could actually see the image. This section is very unclear and did not come out as well as i would have liked it to, however i do believe that it is quite effective in the ways that it shows the danger and darkness of this particular scene and highlights that this is the essential danger element in the film where it is mysterious and raises questions about our thriller opening. This helps lead the audience to want to watch the rest of our thriller.

I believe our camera work for the preliminary task was excellent however our props and costume were updated more in the thriller and we used more camera shots for the final piece. We only used diegetic sounds within our preliminary but for our final thriller we used both diegetic and non-diegetic sounds, which helped to create tension and suspense throughout.

This is a screen grab from our thriller which shows the props we used such as the newspaper which we made, the hat we used and the coat.

Evaluation Six.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Evaluation Five.

How did you attract/address your audience?

Evaluation Four.

Who would be the main audience for your media product and how do i know?

All of the people who completed my survey were under 25, the majority under 18. Our thriller opening has a target audience of people of this age because they enjoy the suspense and tension built which is one of the conventions of our thriller.

Their responses to the other questions on my questionnaire shows how they would be my target audience.

These results show that our thriller opening is something that would captivate them and keep them watching the film. They would want to know what happens next and our thriller is left on a cliffhanger.

My questionnaire was also answered by all females, showing that it relates more to young girls.
This is because it is a young girl who goes missing and this relates to real life and how vulnerable young girls actually are.

Our thriller uses most of the thriller conventions you need to make a good thriller. We use young actors to connect with our target audience of young people.

Evaluation Three.

Evaluation Two.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

evaluation 2 - slideshow

This image of a man and a woman shows how we represented them, the male being dominant and upfront while the woman is withdrawn in the background with her arms folded.

This is the British flag representing one of the ethnicities we used in our film.

This is the Romanian flag which is one of the ethnicities we used in our thriller.

This is an image from the film 'Harry Brown' which as we can see uses the typical stereotype of the bad hoodie, like we do in our thriller.

This is an image from the film 'legally blonde' a film which portrays the stereotypical 'dumb blonde' girl. However, in this film they contradict hegemony and show that the female is more dominant than the male through the studies and her intelligence. This contrasts with our thriller as we conform to hegemony showing the male as more dominant and also, our thriller portrays this stereotype.
