Final Thriller.

innocence.

Evaluation Seven.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the product?

media eval 7 - slideshow

Within our thriller there is a section where the girl is actually getting murdered by the mystery killer, where the lighting is extremely dark and had to be edited to make it lighter so we could actually see the image. This section is very unclear and did not come out as well as i would have liked it to, however i do believe that it is quite effective in the ways that it shows the danger and darkness of this particular scene and highlights that this is the essential danger element in the film where it is mysterious and raises questions about our thriller opening. This helps lead the audience to want to watch the rest of our thriller.

I believe our camera work for the preliminary task was excellent however our props and costume were updated more in the thriller and we used more camera shots for the final piece. We only used diegetic sounds within our preliminary but for our final thriller we used both diegetic and non-diegetic sounds, which helped to create tension and suspense throughout.

This is a screen grab from our thriller which shows the props we used such as the newspaper which we made, the hat we used and the coat.

Evaluation Six.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Evaluation Five.

How did you attract/address your audience?

Evaluation Four.

Who would be the main audience for your media product and how do i know?

All of the people who completed my survey were under 25, the majority under 18. Our thriller opening has a target audience of people of this age because they enjoy the suspense and tension built which is one of the conventions of our thriller.

Their responses to the other questions on my questionnaire shows how they would be my target audience.

These results show that our thriller opening is something that would captivate them and keep them watching the film. They would want to know what happens next and our thriller is left on a cliffhanger.

My questionnaire was also answered by all females, showing that it relates more to young girls.
This is because it is a young girl who goes missing and this relates to real life and how vulnerable young girls actually are.

Our thriller uses most of the thriller conventions you need to make a good thriller. We use young actors to connect with our target audience of young people.

Evaluation Three.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Evaluation Two.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

evaluation 2 - slideshow

This image of a man and a woman shows how we represented them, the male being dominant and upfront while the woman is withdrawn in the background with her arms folded.

This is the British flag representing one of the ethnicities we used in our film.

This is the Romanian flag which is one of the ethnicities we used in our thriller.

This is an image from the film 'Harry Brown' which as we can see uses the typical stereotype of the bad hoodie, like we do in our thriller.

This is an image from the film 'legally blonde' a film which portrays the stereotypical 'dumb blonde' girl. However, in this film they contradict hegemony and show that the female is more dominant than the male through the studies and her intelligence. This contrasts with our thriller as we conform to hegemony showing the male as more dominant and also, our thriller portrays this stereotype.

We requested to use four types of music from mobygratis.com which we believed suited our thriller.

This shows our tracks being accepted and approved for using them in our thriller opening.

All the girls between the ages of 16 and 18 and are similar in appearance with blonde hair and green eyes. I have here Many Watts, mother of 17 year old Ruby, who went missing last Tuesday and was last seen at 8:35pm. What would you like to say to the viewing public?

Mrs Watts: Please help me, I just want my baby back! Ruby if you're watching this please come home or just send me a message somehow. If anyone has seen or heard anything please contact the police.

Reporter: So Mrs Watts, where was she last seen and why was she out at night?

Mrs Watts: She was at her friend, Sophie's house in Seamore Road. Its not far, she text me at 8:30 to tell me that she was leaving, she never came home and hasn't been answering my calls. It has been over a week now and I miss her so much. I just want to know she's safe.

Reporter: Thank you Mrs Watts. This is RC news, bringing you the latest insight to London.

identification.

identification.

Our ident is called 'imagine production' and we used Adobe After Effects CS3 to create this. We used the image of a wolf running from youtube and I took a screenshot of what i done to get this to my desired effect.

Then i added the effect of the text underneath the wolf running to make it look like he is running on the text. the text moves from left to right.
Then I added a background.

Storyboard animatics

We drew a storyboard with images of the sequence of our thriller. Then we took close up images of our drawings and uploaded them onto the computer. Using final cut express we created a video of this sequence and added sound effects. I hope you like it!

Proposal

Proposal
Prepared by
Tania Begum, Ashleigh Westcott and Lucie Stevens

In the thriller that my group have planned are going to create will have Flashbacks in it to remind the killer of what he has done. It will contain Extreme Close Ups, Close Ups and Long Shots. In this thriller opening it will build up tension as the audience will be focused on the video. As it is the opening of a thriller it only shows the first part of the film which is flashbacks, picture of the missing person on the newspaper and how the person went missing.

Health and Safety Issues to note:

Insuring we don't film in a bad weather or ruining the camera and equipment.
Potential Filming Problems :

The weather could change without knowing and may ruin the day and our filming plans.

Additional Notes:  (map of area/weather forecast etc)

These are the park we are mostly likely to film as these are the closet to everyone in our group. The first one is in central park and the next one is in Goodmayes park.

We will have to film in a dark area seen as its a thriller and do it in a day when its not raining and cold. This will allow us to film most of the thriller without any mistakes.

Mood board

This is my mood board which I made for our thriller. We have decided to call this Innocence? I used the colours red black grey white and green to represent murder and a thrilling atmosphere of darkness. The green represents the present while the man is sitting on the bench in the park.

Every film has a certification rate and this determines what age group can watch the film. This takes into account the language and the scenes to see whether they are appropriate for that particular age range.

U certificate means that it is suitable for a universal group. This means it is suitable for all age groups. They contain no materials which a parent would find unsuitable for children,

PG certificate means parental guidance. This means that all ages are admitted however certain scenes may be unsuitable for young children. May contain mild language and sex/drugs references or mild violence.

12A means that those under 12 may only be accompanied by an adult ages at least 18 years old.

12 means that nobody younger than 12 should watch this film.

15 means that only those over the age of 15 are permitted. These films can contain adult themes, hard drugs, frequent strong language and limited use of very strong language, strong violence and strong sex references, and nudity without graphic detail.

18 means that nobody younger than 18 years old (a legal adult) is permitted. there is no limitation on language, drug usage and sex scenes and violence.
